TSheets, the growing time-card software company, broke ground this week on its new headquarters in Eagle.

The 65,000-square-foot building is part of the first phase of Hawkins Cos. 25-acre development at The Bridges at Lakemoor, north of Chinden Boulevard on the east side of Eagle Road.. TSheets will occupy about half of the building when it opens in June 2017 with the option of taking over more space in the future.

TSheets outgrew its original Eagle headquarters near the intersection of South Eagle Road and East State Street. The company has doubled its revenue in each of the past four years, CEO Matt Rissell said. It raised $15 million in an investment round in October.

“This building is a symbol of our business growth,” Rissell said. “We’re like a preteen that just outgrew last year’s school clothes. Time for some new kicks.”

Many tech companies have told the Statesman that they struggle to recruit in the Treasure Valley, but Rissell said TSheets has not had problems hiring new workers. The company has 115 employees after hiring 50 in the previous six months — mostly from within Idaho — and plans to doubled its headcount this year.

“We have a strong belief that the most talented people want to live and work here — in fact, they strive for it — due to the increased range of career options and the unparalleled quality of life here in the Treasure Valley,” Rissell said. “For that reason, we tout rural America, namely Eagle, Idaho, as being the next U.S.-based tech hub.”

Mayor Stan Ridgeway said he was pleased that TSheets opted to stay in Eagle.

“TSheets is the largest private employer in the city of Eagle, and the way they are growing, it’s going to be tough for someone to catch them,” Ridgeway said.
