Treasure Valley Hallmark stores to close
Three Jordan’s Hallmark Gold Crown stores in Boise will soon close.
Known for greeting cards and small gifts, the Hallmark store by the Boise Towne Square Mall at 512 N. Milwaukee St. will close Saturday or Sunday, store manager Mariah Fowler said.
Stores at 16469 N. Market Place Blvd. in Nampa and at 1180 N. Eagle Road in Eagle will close soon, though no date has been set, Fowler said.
Stores in the Northgate Shopping Center at 7074 W. State St. and at the Southshore Shopping Center at 935 E. Parkcenter Blvd. closed in recent months.
The closing stores are selling remaining inventory for 75 percent off, as well as all displays and fixtures.
The stores, as well as two Treasure Valley Hallmark stores that already closed in recent years, are locally owned.
Hallmark stores operate similarly to a franchise model, Fowler said. She said the decision to close was likely a mutual decision between local ownership and Hallmark’s corporate office in Kansas City, noting that other Hallmark stores have closed recently around the nation.
“It’s business,” Fowler said.
