Saint Alphonsus Health System plans to build an emergency medical plaza at 1512 12th Ave. Road in South Nampa, adjacent the current hospital.

The 40,000-square-foot building will house emergency care, short-stay inpatient beds and radiology/medical imaging. The medical plaza also will offer primary care, which will be relocated from Saint Alphonsus’s clinic nearby on Iowa Avenue.

Saint Alphonsus is seeking approval from the city of Nampa to start building. The health system plans to open the plaza in 2017, the same year it plans to open its new full-service hospital at Interstate 84 and Garrity in Nampa.

“Since we announced the replacement hospital build at I-84 and Garrity, we promised that we would continue to provide needed services to south Nampa residents,” said Karl Keeler, CEO of Saint Alphonsus in Nampa and Ontario. “While some of the finer details about the services are still taking shape, we are excited about this addition.”
