The yogurt company Chobani is sending recruiters Saturday to Boise State University. A career event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the BSU Student Union Building.

Chobani will be hiring people to help staff its operations as it expands its Magic Valley campus.

Jobs include engineering, research and development, automation, operations, quality, production and maintenance.

“The incredible thing, after just three short years [in Idaho], is one of our biggest barriers currently is having enough people to come and join,” said Michael Gonda, vice president of corporate communications. “So we are increasing efforts twofold.”

Gonda said the company is branching out from the Magic Valley to recruit new employees, because that valley does not currently have enough workers looking for jobs right now. Its unemployment rate is in the low single digits.

“Twin Falls needs more people,” he said.
