Idaho Statesman wins Press Club awards
The Idaho Press Club awards were announced Saturday and the Idaho Statesman pulled in its fair share of recognition.
The Statesman won 73 awards: Among the honors: first place for General Excellence in daily print journalism, and first place for the Pinnacle Award in daily print journalism, given to the organization with the most awards.
Idaho Statesman reporter Cynthia Sewell won first place for her story on the deputy-involved shooting of Idaho rancher Jack Yantis, “Deputies ‘needlessly’ killed Idaho rancher, family says.”
Idaho Statesman outdoors reporter Chadd Cripe won a first place award for sports news coverage for his story, “Boise State implements cost-of-attendance scholarships.”
The Statesman swept awards, as did other notable news organizations in the state. Here’s the full list of winners:
