Volatility in the midwest due to unplanned maintenance and the recent temporary shutdown of the Keystone pipeline following a leak has pushed prices up at least 10 states in the region.

Idaho gas prices rose 22 cents during the past month to an average $2.15 per gallon and may keep climbing, according to AAA Idaho.

Despite the increase, Idahoans paid 36 cents per gallon less than at the same time last year. Nationally, gas prices climbed to an average of $2.10 per gallon.

A combination of record-high fuel demand, declining refinery production and rising oil prices account for the climbing prices during the past month, AAA Idaho said.

Here’s how average gas prices per gallon fared across the state as of Tuesday, April 19:

Boise — $2.17

Nampa — $2.17

Pocatello — $2.18

Idaho Falls — $2.09

Twin Falls — $2.12

Lewiston — $2.17

Coeur d’Alene — $2.03
