2015 Idaho gas prices were lowest since 2009
Idahoans paid an average of $2.51 per gallon of gasoline in 2015, the lowest average since 2009, according to AAA Idaho.
Idahoans paid 11 cents more per gallon of gas than the national average. Today, Idaho’s per-gallon average price is $2.14, compared with $1.99 nationwide.
Gas prices nationwide fell 90 cents to 95 cents from 2014 to 2015. One year ago, Idaho’s average pump prices were among the lowest in the country, AAA Idaho said. The state’s average rose above the national average in March.
A continuing glut of crude oil means prices are not likely to rise soon. Idahoans, who pay a gas tax of 32 cents per gallon, should expect to pay about 10 cents more than the national average in 2016, AAA Idaho said.
