Marla June’s clothing boutique opens in Downtown Boise

A couple from Oregon has opened Marla June’s Clothing Co., a women’s boutique, at 8th and Bannock streets in Downtown Boise.

The shop, Marla June’s, is located at 811 W. Bannock St., which had been the home of longtime Downtown shop Pottery Gourmet Kitchen.

Its grand opening will be Dec. 3, coinciding with First Thursday. The boutique will offer wine, food, prize drawings, free gifts with purchase and 15 percent off all items between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. that day.

It is the third Marla June’s location in the Pacific Northwest for Oregonian owners Marla and Tony Barnhart. The other stores are in Kennewick, Wash., and Pendleton, Ore.

The new Downtown Boise retailer opened this week. It sells women’s clothing, with apparel brands such as Henry & Belle, Liverpool and Lisette; and shoe brands such as Born and TOMS. Dresses currently range in price from $68 for a sweater dress to $475 for a formal dress.

Marla June’s has three employees.
