An Idaho mountain community has the priciest homes in the state.
A recent report from CashNetUSA, an online lender, ranked Ketchum as the most expensive community in Idaho, with an average home price of about $4.6 million.
That’s roughly 11 times the cost of the average home in Idaho, according to Zillow.
The ranking is part of a list of the most expensive neighborhoods and communities in every state based on Zillow data.
CashNetUSA used Zillow real estate data to compile the rankings by calculating the average price in each community by adding house prices in each area and dividing them by the number of properties.
About Ketchum
Ketchum is a small resort community nestled in Sun Valley in Blaine County, about 81 miles north of Twin Falls. It has a population of 3,624, according to the World Population Review.
The community is adjacent to Sun Valley Resort, voted the best ski resort in Idaho by Ski Magazine — it is famously known as the first ski resort in the world to install chairlifts in 1936.
Some of the world’s most notable figures, such as Ernest Hemingway, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Clint Eastwood, have been drawn to Ketchum over the years.
