The latest proposed developments, other construction projects and new businesses around the Treasure Valley:

Boise

Blane Harvey of Denver-based Trig Point Capital is seeking a permit to build a three-story townhouse building at the old Jerry’s 27th Street Market property at 819 N. 27th St. The Corner at Whitewater is planned for 25 townhouses, three condominiums and ground-floor retail.

Zach Evans Construction is seeking a permit to build a 30-unit multifamily housing development at 3928 E. Haystack St. in Harris Ranch. The three-story building would have 41,743 square feet. The units would include patios and roof decks.

Darigold is seeking a permit to create a new bottling line for aseptic packaging of Fit milk at its plant at 618 N. Allumbaugh St. The Statesman wrote about the project on Feb. 13.

Bullfrog Spas of Bluffdale, Utah, is seeking a permit to remodel a retail space at 8567 W. Franklin Road. The company seeks to create two rooms for spa displays and add new lighting and finishes.

Meridian

The Central Valley Baptist Church is building a 5,300-square foot building where it plans to host activity for church youth. The building will not be attached to the existing structure for now but will be in the future, according to a building permit filed with the city. The project is slated to cost $785,000.

The former Corner Bakery Cafe at the Village in Meridian, 3680 E. Fairview Ave., will be the new home of a fast-casual BBQ restaurant. The Corner Bakery, which was the only of the chain’s restaurants in Idaho, closed in January 2018.

The new restaurant, R&R Barbeque, has eight locations throughout Utah. The Village store will be the chain’s first Idaho location.

R&R is owned by the Four Foods Group, which also owns brands like Little Caesars, Mo’Bettah’s Hawaiian Style Food, and Kneaders Bakery and Cafe.

Prime Desert Properties of Victorville, California, has applied to build a 162-unit senior living apartment complex for people 55 and older.

McMillan Independent Senior Living would include three connected buildings with 161,800 square feet of space, including a clubhouse. The clubhouse would include a lobby, lounge, indoor pool and sauna, a full commercial kitchen, dining areas, a fitness center, and a 20-seat theater.

Outside, the center would feature a patio with shuffleboard, a fire pit, dog park, bocce ball and pickleball courts, a putting green and gardens with an enclosed, year-round greenhouse.

Jeremy Telford of the Arete Investments Group in Meridian is working alongside some local surgeons to build an ambulatory surgical center and medical office suites at 2960 E. St. Luke’s St.

PetIQ, of Eagle, is opening pet wellness centers in partner stores around the country. One center, under the VetIQ Petcare brand, will open at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at Walmart at 4051 E. Fairview Ave. in Meridian.

Nampa

St. Luke’s Cancer Institute plans to break ground this spring on a 42,000-square-foot Nampa campus. The new building would be more than twice the size of the existing Nampa one.

The new center would be designed to improve access by bringing in additional providers and cutting down wait times as well as reducing costs. A groundbreaking had been scheduled for February but was delayed.

8 Krazee Scoops, doing business as Baskin Robbins, has leased 1,521 square feet of retail space in the Orchard Pointe shopping center at 337 Caldwell Blvd. in Nampa, according to Thornton Oliver Keller Commercial Real Estate.

Around Idaho

The new Idaho State University Bengal Welcome Center has opened on the lower level of the Pond Student Union.

It occupies an area that was previously the Transition Gallery. “It is a much more visible and easier-to-find location than our previous office and it is new, fresh and more modern,” said Nicole Joseph, ISU director of admissions and recruitment. “It is a great resource for our prospective students and families.”
