The Boise City Council authorized the purchase of the former Franklin School site from Maverik Inc., which dropped plans to build a gas station there. The site is at the intersection of West Franklin Road and South Orchard Street. City officials say the 4.7 acres would be a good place for housing.
Phet Phanethay has opened Thai Import and Gifts at 320 N. Orchard St. The store carries Thai handicrafts, silk sarongs and shirts from Laos and Thailand, incense, carved frogs, bird whistles, hand painted umbrellas, silk lamps and other gifts.
Ruta Ruzoreza is applying to open a day care center at her home at 4374 N. Heritage View Avenue. The center would host 12 children at once and operate from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and enroll children from newborns to 14 years old.
A Way with Clay, a pottery painting studio, is scheduled to open at noon Thursday, March 28, at 12570 W. Fairview Avenue.
Aspen Engineering and Morgan Family Trust are applying to build three townhomes on a fifth of an acre at 424 First Avenue N., across from the Ethridge Townhomes.
Douglas Petersen of Sky Ridge LP is looking to build a single-story senior apartment complex at 412 E. Hawaii Avenue.
Hubble Homes is applying to annex and rezone 82 acres in at the northeast and southwest corner of North Wing Road and West Beacon Light Road. The city’s comprehensive plan allows for low-density residential space there, but the developer is hoping to build a medium-low density residential neighborhood with three to four houses per acre. The neighborhood would include 131 single-family homes.
Stuart & Raeleen Welton, of Star, seek to rezone 10 acres at 9500 W. Broken Arrow Lane for a proposed RV resort. The property is north of Floating Feather Road, west of Pollard Lane and south of Beacon Light Road. A public hearing is scheduled at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at the Star City Hall, 10769 W. State St.
The Joseph A. & Lynn S. Moyle Trust, of Star, seeks to annex and rezone five parcels on 48 acres at 425 N. Hwy 16 and 8706 W. State St. for 10 residential lots, a commercial lot, and a common lot. The trust also seeks a permit to extract gravel to create a water feature. A public hearing is scheduled at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at the Star City Hall, 10769 W. State St.
Todd Campbell Construction Inc., of Boise, is asking Star to annex and rezone 15.6 acres near the northeast corner of Pollard Lane and Floating Feather Road to build 42 single-family homes in the Iron Mountain Estates subdivision. A public hearing is scheduled at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Star City Hall, 10769 W. State St.
Milligan Investments, of Star, seeks to rezone two lots, at 12222 and 12228 W. Bridger Bay Drive, from “residential” to “neighborhood commercial.” The 0.5-acre and 0.7-acre lots in the Pinewood Lakes West subdivision. The parcels are southwest of the intersection of West State Street and South Highbrook Way, at the northwest intersection of West Bridger Drive and South Deerhaven Lane. A public hearing is scheduled at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Star City Hall, 10769 W. State St.
