In Idaho and confused about Medicare enrollment?
The annual season for anyone who qualifies for Medicare to enroll in the program — or change or drop a benefit plan — began Saturday. It ends Dec. 7.
The Idaho Department of Insurance offers a Senior Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) program to help seniors make sense of the alphabet soup of Medicare plans, the late-enrollment penalties and the differences between benefits. The program is free.
SHIBA is a federally funded program. SHIBA counselors offer unbiased education but cannot recommend coverage or sell insurance.
To make an appointment with a SHIBA counselor anywhere in Idaho, call (800) 247-4422.
