Monthly mindfulness morning: 8:30 a.m. to noon on the third Saturday of the month at the Compassion & Insight Center, 1627 S. Orchard, Boise. Practice consists of sitting and walking meditations, dharma talk and discussion in the tradition of Vietnamese Buddhist monk and peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh. The housing stock in Idaho is becoming scarce, especially for people with the lowest incomes. For those who must choose between paying the rent and buying groceries, the housing issue has become a hunger issue. Raises funds for Imagine No Malaria, a ministry designed to protect children, teens, and adults from mosquito-borne illnesses; and Because International, a nonprofit focused on creating innovative products such as The Shoe That Grows and Bednet Buddy, a pop-up treated mosquito net that protects children as they sleep.
