Spirit, 1, is a 60-pound Great Dane and pointer mix. She’s still just a big puppy with lots of exuberance and, at times, clumsiness. She loves to play with tennis balls and toys. Working with her does take some patience, but it’s easy to love her goofy, friendly personality. She will need an owner who can be consistent and patient in their handling of her so she continues to mature into a nice, well-mannered companion. Spirit is tall and lean, but can be quite strong. She had to have surgery to repair her knee and amputate her tail, but she has made a full recovery. Her ideal owner would be an active person. She is too much dog for toddlers or young children, but would probably be OK with older children who are comfortable with her energy and spunk. She enjoys other dogs, though she can play roughly with them.
