Canyon County Pet of the Week: Alfie

Alfie
Alfie

Alfie, 3, is a male Australian Cattle Dog mix who came to us as a stray. He is a bit unsure in his new surroundings here. The best way to approach him is to get down on his level and let him come to you. Once he does, he is very loving and wants you to pet him. Get him outside, and he is sweet as can be. He loves to play fetch and knows “sit,” “stay” and “drop it.” He does have a lot of energy and jumps up, so he should not go to a home with small children as he could accidentally knock them over. An active family with older children and who are willing to spend time with him would be great. We don’t know his story before he came here, so we don’t know what he has experienced in his life that could make him fearful. He is a gem of a dog. Let us introduce you to him. He appears to be housetrained as he waits to relieve himself outside. We always recommend that you bring all family members and other dogs in for a meet and greet. Our staff will safely conduct the introductions. Alfie is up to date on his vaccinations, micro-chipped, and neutered. He is ready to go home.

Alfie resides in Dog Adoptions here at the West Valley Humane Society located at 5801 Graye Lane in Caldwell. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
