Ada County Pet of the Week: Missy
Missy, 4-1/2, is a 52-pound spayed female Airedale Terrier-Labrador mix with a pretty blonde coat. She was given up by her owners, who didn’t have a secure fence to keep her safe, so she spent her days at the end of a chain. She will need a home with a secure fence and would benefit greatly from crate-training so she has a safe place to stay while her owners are away. Missy was stressed during evaluations at the shelter and just wants to find her forever home so her true personality can shine. She has lived with a bigger dog before, but little dogs make her nervous, so she will need to be introduced to potential canine housemates before she can go to her new home. She would do best in a home with older children or just adults. She doesn’t seem to mind chickens, but she will need a home without cats. Missy knows several obedience commands, though she could benefit from a little more training. She is a cutie who just wants to be part of a family.
Missy (#30436372) is located in kennel 325 at the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week. Learn more at idahohumanesociety.org.
