Ada County Pet of the Week: Janie

Janie, 1, is a 6-pound spayed female Domestic Shorthair. Janie is the honorary cattery ‘greeter’ as she loves visitors and will chirp and paw at anyone who walks past her kennel. She is a curious, playful cat that still has a lot of kitten-like energy. When she’s not busy chasing after toys and exploring her surroundings, she loves to rub up against her human friends and snuggle with them. Janie was brought to the shelter as a stray with an injured back leg. She recently had surgery on her femur and it is healing nicely. It is finally healed enough to where she is available for adoption, but she will need to take it easy for the first couple weeks in her new home as it continues to heal and she begins to bear weight on it again. Our veterinary staff would be more than happy to answer any questions regarding the surgery and her health.

The Idaho Humane Society is currently having a ‘Fall In Love’ cat and kitten sale. Adoption fees for felines are dramatically reduced through Oct. 7.
