Meridian Pet of the Week: Billie
Billie, 3, thinks he’s a big dog in a small body. But he sure is cute.
Billie is nervous around new people (but is getting better). It takes him a minute to warm up and see how he feels about you. If (and when) he decides he likes you, boy are you in for a treat. He’s affectionate, sweet and loves to get full body massages. The trick is, you need to be patient with him. He’s not thrilled with being picked up right now, but you never know.
Because of Billie’s nervousness, older dog savvy kids would be good for him. A nice single person, a couple, a family with older kids would be good options for Billie. He walks well on a leash and just really wants to find his people so he can feel at home and settle in.
Billie has it in him to be a great lap dog, he just needs a little time, patience and kindness.
To meet Billie and other dogs come to the Meridian Canine Rescue and fill out an application. The rescue’s location is 501 E. Scenery Lane in Meridian. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Call 208-794-0944 or go to meridianrescue.org.
