Meridian Pets of the Week: Pebbles & Bam Bam

Pebbles
Pebbles

Meet Pebbles and Bam Bam, both 5, are fully vetted. Do we have any supporters who are also fans of The Flintstones? Could they be any cuter? This bonded pair are newer arrivals from Arizona, and they traveled a long way just to find their family. We cannot wait to make that happen for them.

Pebbles and Bam Bam enjoy spending their lives together. They share everything: food, personal space, attention, you name it they share it. Pebbles is a spayed female, and Bam Bam is a neutered male.

The previous rescue indicated that these two can be a little grouchy at first, and well, wouldn’t you be a little ‘cautious’ if the world as you knew it was completely uprooted?. They do need time to adjust to a new environment, but once they do, they are so affectionate. Both are incredibly loyal once attached to a person. They absolutely love being around their friends.

We are told that Bam Bam and Pebbles are good with other small dogs — after a slow introduction. Apparently, they have better social skills when separated. We’ve also been told that they will need some help with house-training. They were previously trained to use a pad, and they had been allowed to freely roam their foster home wearing a belly band or diaper. Before they were taken in by the Arizona rescue, these two were cared for by a homeless woman who passed away unexpectedly. They hadn’t really lived in a house so didn’t totally understand that they could only go potty in certain locations. That’s certainly not their fault. MCR is more than happy to provide resources on house- and crate-training. Please feel free to come and “meet the Flintstones” during our open hours.

Meet Pebbles & Bam Bam or other dogs at the Meridian Canine Rescue and fill out an application. The rescue’s location is 501 E. Scenery Lane in Meridian. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Call 208-794-0944 or go to meridianrescue.org.
