Ada County Pet of the Week: Denzel

Denzel
Denzel

Denzel, 2, is a 57-pound neutered male American Pit Bull Terrier mix.

Denzel has quickly become a staff favorite due to his bright, happy personality. He’s a puppy-at-heart that loves being around and interacting with people. Denzel doesn’t appear to have had much training but he is eager to please and food motivated. Use this to your advantage for training. Denzel is active and has a lot of energy, so an equally-active family will be ideal for him. Keep him busy and then once he’s worn out, you’ll have a snuggly couch potato on your hands. He would not do well as an outside-only dog as he will likely become lonely and bored, which usually leads to destructive behaviors.

Denzel was a little nervous during playgroups at the shelter but became very playful and friendly with other respectful, confident dogs. A dog introduction is always recommended though.

You can find Denzel (#38801703) in Kennel 421 at the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open every day of the week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information about Denzel or other adoptable pets, go to idahohumanesociety.org
