Mabell, 5, is a tiny little girl who is just as sweet as they come — provided you give her a moment to get to know you. Once she decides you’re BFF material, Mabell happily transforms into a lap dog. She’d like all the loves, all the time.
Mabell was recently transferred to MCR from a shelter in California. Along with five of our other new arrivals, Mabell lived in a home with a number of small dogs, all of whom were confiscated once their guardian died. Because she’s coming from a hoarding situation, Mabell needs a little help adjusting to changes in her environment. New people and places can sometimes be scary for her.
With a little patience, though, we’ve all become great friends with this wiggle worm. Mabell basks in the attention of her human buddies, and we suspect that she would be very content to live out the rest of her life as a lap dog — as long as she gets just a little playtime with a doggie friend or two.
Meet Mabell or other dogs at the Meridian Canine Rescue and fill out an application. The rescue’s location is 501 E. Scenery Lane in Meridian. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Call 208-794-0944 or go to meridianrescue.org.
