Ada County Pet of the Week: Delilah

Delilah, 1-1/2, is a 47-pound spayed female Pointer mix. She is a bouncy, happy puppy that loves to run and play. Delilah has been in and out of our shelter a few times due to her previous owners having allergies and not being able to give her the time and attention she deserves. It’s important that her new family is active and can give her lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Delilah is a big fan of outdoor activities so she would love to go for runs, hikes, or even play in the water. Fetch is also one of her favorite games and she loves to chase after soft toys and tennis balls. Delilah still has a lot of puppy-like habits (like jumping up) so channel some of that energy into a good obedience class. She’s eager to please and will appreciate the one-on-one time with her new owners. Delilah is a big lap-dog at heart and enjoys snuggling next to her people on the couch. It’s important that Delilah is not an “outside-only” dog. She’s very athletic and may be able to climb fences. She’s a sweet, affectionate dog that deserves to live indoors with her family. That’s where she’ll be happiest.

If you are interested in adopting Delilah (#37648525) you can find her in kennel 422 at the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information about Delilah or other adoptable pets, go to
