Canyon County Pet of the Week: Cooper

Cooper, 2, is a 57-pound German shepherd mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in Stockton, Calif. He's a good boy who thinks that two months is long enough to wait for a forever family.

Out of the kennel, Cooper is calm, quiet, loving, and so smart. Training will be quick and rewarding with him. Cooper is very people-friendly, but may take a little time to warm to strangers. He has done well with other dogs that he has met at the shelter. He should do well with a family that works all day because we have seen him entertain himself with a toy in the yard when no one was around. Cooper's special $50 adoption fee includes neuter, current vaccines and microchip.

Come meet Cooper at West Valley Humane Society, 5801 Graye Lane in Caldwell, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Learn about him and other adoptable pets at
