Meridian Pet of the Week: Milo

Milo
Milo

Milo, 6, is looking to spend forever with the right family. He was recently surrendered because he did not do well with the young children in the home, so we are looking for a more mature household at this time. Milo is very friendly and social toward adults, and he bonds to his person quickly. We suspect that he could live with older children (teenagers) who would respect his boundaries.

Milo is both house- and crate-trained, and he walks well on a leash. Here in this environment, he’s been nonreactive to other dogs, but we don’t have any history on him ever living in a home with another dog. Before he was surrendered to us, Milo previously stayed at another shelter here in Idaho. And before that, he was picked up as a stray in Sacramento, Calif., and taken to the Front Street Animal Shelter. If anyone deserves another chance at a forever home, it’s this sweet, calm and loving guy.

Meet Milo or other dogs at the Meridian Canine Rescue (formerly Meridian Valley Humane Society) and fill out an application. The rescue’s new location is 501 E. Scenery Lane, Meridian. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Call 208-794-0944 or go to meridianvalleyhumanesociety.org.
