Meridian Pet of the Week: Maverick
Maverick, 2, is good with other dogs. He’s still very much a puppy, though, and he can play rough at times. But he will back off when the other dogs give warnings. He has been around both horses and cows and behaved well. He’ll chase chickens. He’s pretty good around cats. He’s been moved through a few houses and been exposed to several animals, so an adopter who can keep him social and active might be best for Maverick.
Maverick has been around kids of all ages and behaved well, though his size could be a problem with younger kids. With adults, he really enjoys cuddling on the bed. This guy loves toys and lives for playtime, though can be a little vocal when having fun.
Maverick is house- and kennel-trained. Because he’s a high energy dog, he can exhibit destructive behaviors when left unsupervised. He’ll need to be mentally and physically stimulated in his new home, and he would love to be with a family who will continue his training. Maverick has already mastered several commands and is eager to learn more. He is pretty good off-leash.
