Kip, 1-2, is ready to be your sidekick if you like running, hiking, playing. He loves people — a lot. He is stressed around other dogs at the shelter, so he might be best in a one-dog family. He takes treats gently, plays nicely with toys (no resource guarding), and comes right up to meet new people.
He would probably do great with older kids, though we haven’t yet tested him with any kids at the shelter. Kip just arrived recently from a shelter in Utah, where he was having a tough time in a shelter. He would benefit from training to help him learn commands and how to be calm.
Meet Kip or other dogs at the Meridian Canine Rescue (formerly Meridian Valley Humane Society) to fill out an application. The rescue’s new location is 501 E. Scenery Lane, Meridian. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Call 794-0944 or go to meridianvalleyhumanesociety.org.
