Ginger, 8, has been through a lot of change recently. She lost her family, was taken in by a friend with great intentions, and was then surrendered to the rescue center because she couldn’t adjust to living in the new home with the other dog. Ginger may need a quiet space with a family who will allow her to decompress.
Ginger has been calm and curious at the shelter. She is fully vetted and will need her next family to help her lose a few pounds through a healthy diet and regular exercise. She might not be good around other animals or children. She is both house- and crate-trained and she knows several basic commands.
Meet Ginger or other dogs at the Meridian Canine Rescue (formerly Meridian Valley Humane Society) to fill out an application. The rescue’s new location is 501 E. Scenery Lane, Meridian. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Call 794-0944 or go to meridianvalleyhumanesociety.org.
