Jasmin, 5, a border collie and Australian cattle dog blend, is a medium-size dog, weighing more than she appears to at 55 pounds. She is house-trained and is a wonderful companion pet. Her soft coat will require occasional brushing.
Jasmin loves going outside for walks on the leash, or running freely in the yard. She knows sit and lay down, loves treats and belly rubs and likes to cuddle. She especially likes women, but gets along with male volunteers and staff at the shelter. She may be OK with older children who respect her boundaries. She has a pretty good temperament, but can be snappy if someone tests her limits. She is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.
She does not like small spaces or sudden movements or glasses. She is skittish/jumpy when frightened. She might have difficulty with some dogs. A meet and greet with family and dogs in the home will be required prior to adoption. She needs to be fed separately as she will protect her food and show aggression if another dog approaches. She may do best in a single dog home.
Jasmine is in the Dog Adoptions wing at West Valley Humane Society, 5801 Graye Lane in Caldwell. Learn about her and other adoptable pets at www.westvalleyhumanesociety.org
