Lady, 4, is a Catahoula leopard dog and chocolate Labrador retriever mix. She sports a red/merle short coat and weighs 57 pounds. Her owners had a lifestyle change so brought her to the shelter.
Lady is good on a leash and nice to walk with. She knows sit, likes treats and takes them gently and will fetch. She is energetic in play but is gentle when relaxing. Lady loves water. She is great around horses, good on car rides and likes other dogs, but no cats and no chickens.
She appears to be house-trained. Her prior owner said she was mainly an outside dog, but never had an accident when she was in the house and did not get on the furniture. She is vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed.
The shelter recommends meet-and-greets with all family members and other dogs in the home prior to adoptions. Lady is in the dog adoptions wing at West Valley Humane Society, 5801 Graye Lane, in Caldwell. The hours are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and closed on Sundays.
