Meridian Pet of the Week: Jasper

Jasper, 3, was adopted and then returned to us recently. We’ve learned that he is not fully house-trained and that it takes him awhile to settle into a new location. Please be patient with this guy. Resources will be provided. This boy was transferred to us from Pocatello after waiting too long for his forever home. We just can’t understand why no one has scooped him up yet. Jasper is such a love — affectionate, playful and so far pretty good with other dogs. We’ve been told that he’s dog selective, but he and Harley did very well together on the way here and during intake. And he apparently was not at all phased by a little bossy dog who got in his face before coming here. The volunteers at his previous shelter report that he’s “super sweet,” energetic and more interested in human attention than toys. Which is fine by us. We don’t mind loving on this guy.

To apply for Jasper, visit the rescue and fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date. To meet Jasper or other dogs available for adoption, visit Meridian Valley Humane Society at 191 N. Linder Road in Meridian. Open hours vary; visit or call 794-0944 for times. The rescue will be closed Christmas Day.
