Meridian Pet of the Week: Ike

Ike
Ike

Ike, 3, is a male Lab mix who weighs about 50 pounds. He arrived from the Idaho State Correctional Institution, where he served as a sentry dog. Ike is a talented jumper and can clear a 6-foot fence. Ike also likes to hop around, play fetch and love on people. He gets along great with humans and pretty well with dogs. For older dogs, Ike’s energy level is off-putting, so he would need to be slowly introduced to any potential playmate. He is reported to do well with older children. Ike is up-to-date on shots and kennel-trained.

To apply for Ike, visit the rescue and fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date. To meet Ike or other dogs available for adoption, visit Meridian Valley Humane Society at 191 N. Linder Road in Meridian. Open hours vary; visit online at www.meridianvalleyhumanesociety.org or call 794-0944 for times.
