Mandarin restaurant opens in Meridian

Red Pavilion Mandarin Cuisine recently opened at 1760 S. Meridian Road near the corner of Overland Road in Meridian.

The restaurant specializes in cuisine from the Sichuan province of China and it uses traditional Mandarin cooking techniques. Expect to find recognizable appetizers such as barbecued pork and seeds, pot stickers and crunchy egg rolls.

Larger plates include fiery kung pao chicken, Hunan-style beef, chow mein noodles, salt and pepper shrimp and mu shu pork with savory pancakes.

Red Pavilion also has restaurants in McCall (317 E. Lake St.) and Mountain Home (2005 American Legion Blvd.).

The Meridian restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
