Calendar February 2020: Valentine’s Day, Valentines for AIDS,

January might have been quiet for some. But as we leap into February, things are picking up.

One being the advertising for Valentine’s Day. You can’t walk into a department store without being hit in the face with pink, red, hearts, stuffed animals and candy. Although in my area, there was already an aisle dedicated to the holiday back in December, chillin’ right next to section of Christmas decor that had barely gone on clearance. My lord!

If you are one to celebrate, it’s time to start thinking about those dinner reservations, cards, flowers, etc.

Or pick up a unique gift for your someone special at the Valentines for AIDS silent art auction Feb. 6-16. It’s an opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind pieces to benefit SNAP (Safety Net for AIDS Program).

Or snag tickets to a cool show. Stomp hits the Morrison Center Feb. 21-22, and Cirque du Soleil’s OVO comes to the ExtraMile Arena Feb. 27-March 1.

There’ll be plenty of concerts to choose from: Stone Temple Pilots (Feb. 8), Bone Thugs-n-Harmony (Feb. 16), Korn/Breaking Benjamin (Feb. 24), TobyMac (Feb. 25), Lyle Lovett (Feb. 28).

Got home improvements on the to-do list this year? Get an early start with ideas at the Canyon County Spring Home and Garden Show Feb. 7-9.

And if you haven’t taken that much-needed road trip to McCall to peep the snow sculptures, get going. The last day is Sunday, Feb. 2.
