Boise police find heroin, meth in safe inside storage unit; woman arrested

Boise police officers arrested a woman Wednesday on charges of drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance after a search of her storage unit yielded both heroin and meth.

According to a press release, Vanessa L. Whalen, 26, of Boise, was arrested during a traffic stop and booked in the Ada County Jail after a storage search by Boise Police Neighborhood Contact Officers and the Boise Area Narcotics Interdiction Team. The storage unit is located on the 400 block of Maple Grove Road.

Authorities were led to Whalen’s storage unit and obtained a search warrant after a “lengthy investigation into the sales of illegal narcotics” and tips from citizens, according to the release. Fifteen grams of heroin as well as meth were discovered.
