One man stabbed, another beaten. Boise police think they’re connected

Police are looking for anyone with information about two violent incidents from Tuesday that investigators believe are connected: a stabbing and a brutal beating that may have been in retaliation.

The stabbing occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday near 17th Street and Shoreline Drive, according to a Boise Police Department news release.

Officers who responded to the stabbing determined that two men who knew each other got into a fight. One man stabbed the other, then fled the scene, investigators believe.

Friends of the stabbing victim took him to a local hospital, police said, and his injuries were not life-threatening. While officers were at the hospital, they received a report of man being battered near 17th Street. That man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives with the Boise Police Violent Crimes Unit took over the case. They believe the man who was severely beaten was the stabber in the earlier incident. They are hoping the public can help them identify a suspect in the beating.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police by calling non-emergency dispatch: 208-377-6790.
