School bus flips in Meridian, no children were on board at the time of the crash

A school bus used by the West Ada School District flipped onto its side Monday morning when it was struck by another vehicle, but no children were on-board at the time.

The crash occurred around 7:15 a.m. on Franklin Road, near Linder Road, near the bus terminal for Cascade Student Transportation. The bus was reportedly pulling out of the bus barn, onto Franklin Road, when it was hit by an oncoming car.

Meridian Police Sgt. Stacy Arnold said it appears the bus driver was at fault in the crash and was cited for failure to yield at the stop sign. Both drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and their names have not been disclosed.

Arnold said the bus was on its way to go pick up children.
