Pedestrian who was struck, killed by car in Eagle identified by coroner’s office

The man who was struck and killed Monday morning in Eagle on Cardon Street was identified by the Ada County Coroner’s Office as 23-year-old Nickolas G. Cereceres.

The Ada County Sheriff’s Office received a report around 8:40 a.m. that an adult male had been struck by a sedan that was traveling east in the 4000 block of Cardon, near Park Lane and west of Eagle High School. Cerecers, from Boise, died at the scene, but the driver was uninjured.

The coroner’s office said Cerecers died of blunt force injuries due to a pedestrian v. motor vehicle collision.

The sheriff’s office reported that the man who died was in the street and outside of a crosswalk. He was near a landscaping trailer that had a crew working nearby. Neither the driver nor the victim have been identified as of Monday morning, and the driver had not been cited.

The incident is under investigation by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office..
