If you ever happen to get pulled over by the Idaho State Police, you can now take solace in the fact that you’re getting stopped by one of the finest-looking vehicles on the road.

Since 2015, the American Association of State Troopers has produced a calendar sporting the best looking state police cars in the United States. This year, voters selected from a group of 48 cars on Facebook; each “like” equaled a vote. The competition garnered a total of more than 250,000 votes, according to the association.

And, thanks to more than 8,000 Facebook likes, the Idaho State Police car will grace a month in the “2019 America’s Best Looking Cruiser Calendar.”

It is the first time ISP has been featured in the calendar, “in anybody’s memory, among current troopers,” according to ISP spokesman Tim Marsano. The ISP cruiser ranked No. 10 in voting.

“ISP Troopers across our state take pride in their patrol cars, which are essentially their ‘offices,’” Marsano told the Idaho Statesman in an email.

The calendar, which will go on sale in September at the association’s website, features 13 different cars from departments around the country. The “cover model” for this year is the cruiser for the Kentucky State Police, which garnered a total of 29,000 “likes.”

KSP edged out the Georgia State Police, which had the same number of votes but had more “love” reactions. Yes, you read that correctly.

Net proceeds from the calendar go toward educational scholarships for the American Association of State Troopers Foundation, according to the association’s website.

Marsano said he is unsure which month ISP will be featured.
