Caldwell police cancel Amber Alert after 11-year-old girl found; man in custody

UPDATE: An Amber Alert issued by the Caldwell Police Department on Wednesday night was canceled after Aila and Kelly James Vesterby were located in Mountain Home, according to a department news release. Kelly Vesterby is in custody, according to the release, which gave no further information about Aila.

The vehicle believed to have been used by Kelly Versterby was found in Boise earlier in the night, according to ISP.

Authorities are searching for an 11-year-old who is believed to have been abducted and could be “in danger,” according to family members.

Aila Nyelle Vesterby was last seen at 2320 Carnegie St. in Caldwell last night, according to the Idaho State Police. She may be accompanied by 48-year-old Kelly James Vesterby and potentially en route to either Mountain Home or Minnesota, according to a release. He is thought to be armed.

The Caldwell Police Department issued an Amber Alert on Wednesday night.

Aila Nyelle Vesterby is 5 feet 2, 70 pounds, white, with blond hair and blue eyes. Kelly James Vesterby is 5 feet 8, 210 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes, according to police. Kelly James Vesterby may be driving a blue or green 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe with a license plate of Idaho 3292V, authorities said.
