New Boise State concerts: Volbeat, Buddy Guy, Head & the Heart

With temperatures skyrocketing, indoor concerts suddenly sound appealing. Here are three new shows announced at cool, air-conditioned spaces on the Boise State University campus:

▪  Blues singer-guitarist Buddy Guy is still rocking at 79. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will headline a 7:30 p.m. show Monday, Aug. 22 at the Morrison Center. Tickets will cost $39-$125 at Ticketmaster. (Presale begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday; general public onsale is at 10 a.m. Thursday.)

▪  Headbangers Volbeat are headed to Taco Bell Arena for a concert Wednesday, Sept. 7. Tickets to the general public go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for $39.75 at Ticketmaster. Killswitch Engage and Black Wizard open.

▪  Indie-folk band The Head and the Heart are headed to the Morrison Center for a 7:30 p.m. show Thursday, Nov. 3. Tickets will be $35.50-$69.50 at Ticketmaster. (Presale starts at 10 a.m. today; general public onsale is at 10 a.m. Friday). Declan McKenna opens.
