Ready for an outdoor concert and a cold drink?

Alive After Five, the summer music series held Wednesdays in Downtown Boise, has finalized its June lineup.

Heads up: AA5 has moved from its normal location, The Grove Plaza, to The Basque Block. Otherwise, the song remains much the same. It runs from 5 to 8 p.m. It’s free. And it attracts a diverse, family-friendly crowd every week.

The style of music always varies. Quality does, too. Looking for recommendations? Go to the kickoff, June 1, which showcases two acts affiliated with major record labels. If you’re an old-school country fan, June 8 should be a fun doubleheader. And June 22 is headlined by a proven commodity in Boise.

June 1

Kaleo: In the past year, the folk-tinged rock group has invaded alternative and Triple-A radio with two alluring indie-pop songs, “All the Pretty Girls” and “Way Down We Go.” Radio station 94.9 FM The River facilitated Kaleo’s show at Alive After Five. Opener: The Wind + The Wave.

June 8

Wayne “The Train” Hancock: An Austin, Texas, favorite, Hancock performs neo-traditional country music. If you dig Hank Williams, you’ll dig “The Train.” Opener: Poke.

Warning: profanity

June 15

The Smites: This local band is a tribute to The Smiths. Opener: Popsicle.

• • •

June 22

Clumsy Lovers: As the band explains on Facebook, they’re “still clumsily rollin’ along after all these years.” The Lovers bring lots of spirit to their Celtic-rockin’, bluegrass-laced shows. Opener: Deviant Kin.

• • •

June 29

Swagger: Swagger is from Salt Lake City. Think Flogging Molly-lite, as Irish influences continue at AA5 for the second straight week. Opener: Bread & Circus.
