Deeds: Search starts for replacement at Mix 106’s ‘Mike & Kate’ show

Confirming rumors that have circulated for weeks, Mix 106 morning personality Kate McGwire told listeners today that she’s leaving the station at the end of the week.

McGwire has been half of “Mike & Kate in the Morning” for more than a decade. Consequently, this is a tough row to hoe for Mix, which made an impressive showing in the latest Nielsen radio ratings.

Mix 106 is interviewing potential successors. Kevin Godwin, regional vice president of station owner Townsquare Media, says he hopes to pair a new hire with co-host Mike Kasper with a month.

Until then, Kasper will host mornings at Mix with producer JD Hanks.
