Lite FM, Mix 106 top fall 2015 radio-station ratings
Every six months, Nielsen Audio data measures listener share among commercial radio stations.
The ratings for fall 2015 just hit the streets.
So which local group of managers, on-air personalities and sales staffers are partying this time around? Hello, 107.9 Lite FM. The adult contemporary station came out on top among all listeners 12 and older — the overall bragging rights category.
Hot AC station Mix 106 topped the 25- to 54-year-old category, which is the demographic chased by advertisers. Rumors are swirling that change is in the air for Mix’s “Mike & Kate in the Morning” show. If that is true, it will be interesting to see if Mix keeps rolling strong in the next ratings book.
Nielsen prohibits 25-54 data from being published. However, here are the aforementioned quarter-hour share ratings for Treasure Valley stations among listeners 12 and older between 6 a.m. and midnight:

Explaining the numbers: “Share” is the percentage of listeners tuned in to a station at a given time. KXLT-FM’s 5.6 in 12-plus means 5.6 percent of everyone 12 and older in the market listening to the radio at that time was tuned in to that station. These are quarter-hour share, or AQH, numbers — the average number of people listening to a particular station for at least 5 minutes during a 15-minute period. “Rating,” the percentage of potential listeners in the market actually tuning in, is an entirely different thing.
