1. THINK SNOW

Get rid of those old ski boots that torture your feet. Strap yourself onto a wicked new board. The 65th annual Ski Swap is this weekend at Expo Idaho. Oh, and prepare yourself for the annual Warren Miller film festival next week.

2. BE SPORTY

Wha — no Boise State football this weekend? Ugh. Need a sports fix? Try Idaho Steelheads hockey on Friday and Saturday, BSU men’s basketball on Friday, or EnduroCross on Saturday.

3. FILL YOUR GROWLER

Just when you thought another brewery couldn’t open in Garden City ... yep, there’s another one. After a long wait during construction, Powderhaus Brewing Co. finally opens its tap room at 3 p.m. Friday. [Details]

4. ROCK LOCAL

Two Boise-area bands are hosting record-release parties this weekend. Post-rock act Red Hands Black Feet will unleash its 10-minute instrumental canvases Friday at Neurolux. [Details] And energetic rockers Marshall Poole will crank the amps Saturday at The Watercooler. [Details]

5. HANG OUT ON 42ND STREET

“We’re in the money! We’re in the money!” Do not play the video below unless you want that classic show tune lodged permanently in your tormented mind. Or succumb to it in person at “42nd Street.” The musical comedy plays Friday and Saturday at the Morrison Center. [Details]
