Words & Deeds

Deeds: 5 Things to Do This Weekend in Boise

MCT

1. HIT THE BARS DOWNTOWN

Put on your Harley Quinn costume and head to 6th and Main streets. It’s going to be a wild weekend. Just focusing on two bars, Friday parties will include the Zombie Prom at Hannah’s and Inner Diva bash at China Blue. Saturday will be equally crazy, with the Exotic Erotica Ball at Hannah’s and American Horror Story at China Blue/Dirty Little Roddy’s.

2. DIE BY THE SWORD

Itching for some live music? Bang your head Friday to The Sword, who channel heavy groove-rock and Black Sabbath-inspired metal as well as any modern band. Neurolux is gonna be loud. [Tickets]

3. BE A DEADHEAD

Local musicians will dress up as the Grateful Dead and make Halloween a psychedelic experience for fans at Visual Arts Collective. Musicians: Bernie Reilly (Jerry Garcia), Sean Hatton (Bob Weir), Jon Engelund (Phil Lesh), Daniel Blumenfield (Keith Godchaux), Louis McFarland (Bill Kreutzmann) and Todd Chavez (Mickey Hart.) It’s $10. [Tickets]

4. BE A NIGHT OWL

The biggest electronic music marathon will be the sixth annual Frightfest on Saturday night. This EDM bash happens in three spots — a Heaven Stage at The Eclypse Bar, 5467 N. Glenwood St., Hell Stage at Boise Bingo, 5443 N. Glenwood St., and Purgatory stage at Glenwood Event Center, 5459 N. Glenwood St. Expect 20 DJs, 10 hours of music and three themed rooms. The party goes until 5 a.m.

5. HANG WITH THE KIDS

Stop being selfish, grown-ups. Halloween is about your kids. Take them to Zoo Boise’s annual all-day Boo at the Zoo on Saturday.
