This major summer concert tour is coming. You’ll be ‘so glad you made it,’ Boise
Feeling good about the coming summer concert season in Boise?
Prepare to feel even better.
Party-loving rock bands 311 and Dirty Heads are teaming up for a co-headlining show on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater in Nampa. Their So Glad You Made It Tour will include opening acts Ocean Alley and Rome. Tickets become available to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday for $42 to $120 at fordidahocenter.com.
It’s hard to think of a musical pairing that will put fans in a more festive mood. Alternative-rock group 311 has been bouncing around stages with its upbeat music since 1988, when the group formed in Omaha, Nebraska. Fusing funk, hip-hop and more, the band dropped singles such as “Down” and “All Mixed Up,” which tore up the charts in the 1990s.
Dirty Heads’ roots stretch back to that decade, too. But the Huntington Beach, California-based band didn’t release its first album until 2008. Blending reggae and rock, Dirty Heads are a favorite among concertgoers who love bands such as 311, Pepper and now-defunct Sublime with Rome.
With four bands on the bill, music will fire up by late afternoon at the Idaho Center’s outdoor venue. Performances are scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
