Ready for this ‘icon’ to return, Boise? His last concert was 10,089 fans huge

Boise summer concert season is emerging from hibernation. Not one, but two new shows have been announced at the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater in Nampa — and both are big for country fans.

Let’s start with the one guaranteed to be huge.

Singer Jason Aldean, who pulled a whopping 10,089 fans through the gates during his last visit in 2024, will return for a Friday, July 31, performance. The opening acts will be Chase Matthew and DJ Silver. Tickets become available to the general public at 10 a.m. March 6 for $39.75-$189.75 through fordidahocenter.com.

A multiplatinum act, Aldean first made waves with his 2005 debut single “Hicktown.” As Billboard explains, he soon “solidified his place as a country icon with his party-starting hit ‘She’s Country’ in 2008. He then made a splash with his biggest hit to date — the rap-country smash “Dirt Road Anthem” — in 2011. He’s headlined a tour every year since 2010, subsequently winning the entertainer of the year honor at the ACM Awards from 2016-2018.”

Over the years, Aldean has managed to to stir up controversy a time or three. Remember the ruckus he caused in 2023 with the video to “Try That in a Small Town”? Either way, that song wound up No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Genre-blending singer Koe Wetzel.

The country-rocker, who was part of Hardy’s massively attended Jim Bob Tour at the Idaho Center Amphitheater last May, will headline his own concert this time.

Wetzel will perform Thursday, July 23, with openers Ole 60, Bayker Blankenship and Logan Jahnke. Tickets go on sale to the public starting at 10 a.m. March 13 for $41.50 to $102, also through fordidahocenter.com. Presales begin March 10.
