Two outdoor Boise concerts already sold out, third one is close. Major new one announced

The concert schedule is heating up at Boise’s main outdoor venue this summer — so much that winter procrastinators are getting burned.

General-admission tickets to Lord Huron and Black Keys shows at the Idaho Botanical Garden’s Outlaw Field have sold out. A third headliner, Alison Krauss and Union Station, has reached 80% of maximum sales, according to promoter CMoore Concerts.

But here’s good news for fans: The 11th show of the season was just announced.

Singer-guitarist Charley Crockett will perform Tuesday, July 1. Tickets become available to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday for $49.50 at Ticketmaster. A presale for Idaho Botanical Garden members kicks off two days earlier — at 10 a.m. Wednesday — with tickets at $44.50.

A skilled blender of country, blues and other rootsy styles, Crockett nabbed his first Grammy Award nomination last month for “$10 Cowboy,” which received a nod for Best Americana Album.

A 4,000-capacity venue, Outlaw Field normally sells out a few times each year — sometimes months in advance. This always seems to surprise a few fans who are late to the game.

Technically, the two shows already sold out this year aren’t even summer concerts. They’re in spring. (Wise Boise concertgoers take full advantage of blissful May temperatures.)

Here’s the entire announced lineup so far: Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit (May 17), Lord Huron (May 23), Khruangbin with John Carroll Kirby (May 29), The Black Keys with Hermanos Gutierrez (May 30), Goose (June 1), Earth, Wind & Fire (June 17), Modest Mouse (June 29), Charley Crockett (July 1), Lake Street Dive (July 8), Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas (July 23) and Chicago (Aug. 27).
