Western Idaho Fair to offer reserved seats at grandstand concerts. Here’s the first band

The Western Idaho Fair is still months way, but organizers have begun revealing the grandstand concerts.

Classic-rock band Kansas will perform Monday, Aug. 19 — one of five shows on the ICCU Grandstand Stage. The others haven’t been shared yet. The Western Idaho Fair plans to unveil one performer each Tuesday in April.

Known for 1970s hits “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind,” Kansas last performed in Boise in September last year at the Morrison Center.

As always, the grandstand concerts will be free with paid fair admission. But new this year — “for the first time in decades” — the fair also will sell a limited number of reserved seats and box packages. So if you don’t want to wait in line and scramble to find a spot in the bleachers, you’ve got options.

A reserved grandstand seat to a concert will cost $35, which includes fair admission.

The Western Idaho Fair will be Aug. 16-25 at Expo Idaho. Tickets, carnival wristbands and reserved seats for Kansas are being sold now at idahofair.com. Advance fair admission costs $10, or $9 senior, or $8 for kids ages 6 to 11. Children 5 and under are free.
