This pricey ‘fun dining’ restaurant closed in downtown Boise — after opening in July

A newly opened seafood restaurant in downtown Boise has closed its doors after less than three months.

But the shutdown will be temporary, if all goes according to plan.

SEA Crab House, on the second floor of the Zions Bank building at 800 W. Main St., shuttered last week, according to Christophe Adrien, the regional chain’s president. The Bend, Oregon-based brand specializes in Cajun-style seafood boils with a Southeast Asian twist.

SEA Crab House’s menu includes signature and build-your-own boils, along with lobster and crab rolls, clam chowder, fish and chips, tacos, salads and more.

SEA Crab House is pricier than most restaurants but offers a unique seafood experience. “It’s not fine dining,” Adrien told the Statesman in June. “It’s fun dining.”

But, “unfortunately,” Adrien said this week, “we had to close down due to staffing issues and shortages.”

“We have a 90-day plan in place to recruit the right people to reopen the restaurant,” Adrien continued in an email. “No reopening date has been set yet until we get farther along in the recruiting process.”

“We are poised to get reopened sooner rather than later,” he added. “We firmly believe our Southeast Asian-Cajun Cuisine concept will be a success in Boise, and we are committed to recruiting and training a top-notch staff who can deliver the experience we promise to our customers.”
